Quest  —  by  Dick Nuenke

The March 2001 Quest asked to find the commonality of six unfamiliar words which upon changing one of the vowels (in bold) become common, recognizable words.  The six words are Eastar, Pocan, Selar, Texin, Spectar, and Fortron.  All are brand names of polymer resins (plastics).

There are lots of such names, chiefly to distinguish them from competitors' products and from each other.  (See the web site www.geocities.com/~spanoudi/tradname.html for a "partial" list of about 500.)

Correct answers to this Quest came from  Delmar Burkitt  and  Alma Litten.  Alma also had the correct answers for the February Quest.

For this month, below are three items which have something in common.  It's a limited set, but if I give you even one more it will be no challenge to search it out on the internet.  Here they are:

Columbine Sacred Cow Independence
