Quest  —  by  Dick Nuenke

The June 2001 Quest contained sixteen names appropriate for June.  All are the names of varieties of roses, which of course typically bloom about the first part of June.  Alma Litten  was the only one to come up with the category, recognizing several of them from her own dealing with roses.  It's an easy category to format since there are easily over a thousand names to choose from.

The July Quest is also a colorful one.  This time it's movies.  Movies began in black and white and moved to color.  But there are also odd mixtures of the two.  See how many of these you can identify from the description and the year they came out.
1. Started in color, then redone in black and white because of budget restrictions (1939).
2. Starts and ends in black and white; the rest is all colorful (1939).
3. Scenes in black and white, scenes in color, scenes run backward (2000).
4. Different coloration for different locales (2000).
5. All black and white except for red dress (1993).
6. All black and white except for red tinted gunshot (1945).
7. First full-length movie filmed entirely in color (1929).
8. Black-and-white classic (1942) gets controversial colorization (1988).
9. First movie with black and white actors (1914).
